Melissa is a Lead Data Scientist with extensive experience working with data to drive decision-making in healthcare. She specialises in designing studies that use real-world data to evaluate the impact of health interventions and policies. She is particularly passionate about causal inference methods and using data science to improve health equity.

Melissa has a PhD in epidemiology and medical statistics, where she studied ethnic disparities in dementia. Previously, she worked at The Health Foundation, where she worked on evaluations of NHS programmes and policy analyses. She has also worked in consultancy and academia, as well as in a US healthcare setting. In her spare time, she volunteers with DataKind UK, a charity that works with other third sector organisations to better use data and data science to increase their impact.
