We are the Health Economics Unit and we deliver impactful insights that power the future development of health and care delivery. We are growing fast and looking to hire great people for two great new roles with our team. Apply before 10 May 2021.
Health economist vacancies
We are looking for sharp-minded and nimble health economists to evaluate innovations in health and social care, working with a range of stakeholders including the NHS, academia, SMEs and Industry.
As our Senior Health Economist (Agenda for Change Band 7) you will have great knowledge of the NHS and use this to select the most appropriate evaluation and analytical techniques, applying these to large and complex datasets. You’ll then take the lead interpreting and explaining the results of economic analyses to senior managers and clinicians as well as developing your own ideas about the best way to support the health services through novel analyses.
As our Health Economics Modelling Manager (Agenda for Change Band 8A) you will design and develop transparent and user-friendly economic models such as budget impact models and cost-effectiveness models. You’ll be developing logic models and evaluation frameworks including mixed-method approaches to evaluate medicines and technologies such as medical devices and digital health solutions. Once you’ve explained your findings you’ll be keen to share these ideas and findings with others that can make use of them.
Passion, Enthusiasm and Creativity
These jobs require passion, enthusiasm and creativity about how we use health economics to make informed decisions on resource allocation, transforming how healthcare is delivered, improving the lives of our population.
We are creating fantastic, useful insights by working in collaboration and partnership, internally and externally, and you will want to thrive in that environment.
Agile working
As an organisation, we have radically adopted the principles of agile working in order to support the flexibility and work/life balance of our people, meaning you can focus on what you do rather than where you do it. The team and individuals working with you may be based all over the UK, so where you are based and work from is not an issue for us. The salary range and benefits for each post is listed in the job vacancy and the application process is managed via Health Jobs UK.
Further information
You’ll be working with smart people with terrific ideas and lots of mojo. If you’d like to find out more about either role before applying please contact our Head of Health Economics Dr Wayne Smith to discuss these great roles in more detail.
Thank you and enjoy your day!
